This bill amends the existing law to allow public employees to voluntarily authorize deductions from their wages for insurance or employee benefit programs offered through their employee organization, as long as they can rescind the authorization by giving their employer 30 days' written notice. The bill provides this new exception to the existing law governing authorized employee wage deductions and will take effect 60 days after its passage.
