This bill requires certain disclosures of election expenditures. Specifically, it mandates that individuals or entities who make independent expenditures over $1,000 in a calendar year must disclose detailed information, including the identity of the person or group making the expenditure, the amount and purpose of the expenditure, and the identity of any contributors over $250. The bill also requires disclosure of "covered transfers" - funds transferred between entities for the purpose of making campaign-related disbursements. Entities receiving covered transfers over certain thresholds must obtain and disclose information about the contributors to the transferring entity. Failure to comply with the disclosure requirements can result in fines and criminal penalties.
