This bill requires that political communications, whether paid for by a committee, group, or individual, must clearly identify the entity or person responsible for the payment or reimbursement. In addition to the name of the committee, group, or individual, and their treasurer or authorized agent, these communications must now also include an internet site or telephone number where the responsible party can be contacted. For radio communications, this information must be spoken at both the beginning and end, and for television communications, it must be displayed on screen for the entire duration and be readable. This aims to increase transparency in political advertising by making it easier for the public to find out who is funding these messages.
