This bill modifies the concurrent enrollment program, which allows high school students to take college-level courses, by authorizing a partial tuition charge per credit hour for certain higher education courses offered in public schools. It also requires these concurrent enrollment courses to be introductory-level courses at higher education institutions, meet general education requirements, and generally be offered within the institution's appropriate geographical service region, with some exceptions. Additionally, the bill mandates that the State Board of Regents and the State Board of Education collaborate to develop specific technology-intensive concurrent enrollment courses and makes other technical adjustments to the existing law.
