This bill proposes several key provisions: 1. It requires the Auditor of State to establish uniform accounting procedures and charts of accounts that can be used by all public offices in Ohio within two years. Public offices that adopt these standards will be awarded a "DataOhio Transparency Award-Uniformity of Accounting." 2. It directs the Auditor of State to create and manage a website, data.Ohio.gov, to serve as the state's primary online catalog of public records and data sets shared by public offices. It requires public offices that post records online to do so in an open format, and to include in their public records policy a statement of which records are posted online. 5. It establishes the Local Government Information Exchange Grant Program, administered by the State Librarian, to provide $10,000 grants to counties, townships, municipalities, and public libraries that meet criteria for posting certain public records online in an open format. The bill aims to improve transparency and accessibility of public data in Ohio through uniform accounting, online data cataloging, and data posting requirements.
