This bill requires that all wine and liquor sold in the state be received from a "primary American source of supply," which is defined as either the manufacturer or an authorized exclusive agent of the manufacturer from whom a distributor in the United States can secure the product. The bill also requires that primary American sources of supply register with the state liquor authority, and that wholesalers in the state only purchase liquor and wine from registered primary American sources of supply or their authorized wholesalers. The bill provides some exceptions, such as allowing a wholesaler to bring in a brand of liquor or wine if the manufacturer or bottler has not appointed a primary American source of supply, or for certain products purchased by retailers. The state liquor authority is authorized to implement and enforce the provisions of this bill.
